General FAQ

Are the files MP3 format?

Yes, all downloads are MP3. Let us know if you need a different format.

Does the music have a start beep?

Yes, all downloads come with a start beep/signal.

Is your music approved by USAG?

USAG does not approve floor music. But all Salute Music tracks comply with the current USAG Code of Points. Additionally, Salute Music works closely with an active USAG level 10 judge (who is also a choreographer!) to vet our music and help keep us up-to-date on rule changes.

What if I purchased the the wrong length of music by mistake?

Let us know! We will send you the correct length within 24 hours (if not sooner!).

I purchased a song, but now need a longer or shorter version.

No! We offer free length changes to the same individual that purchased the music (or gym if purchased by a staff member). Just let us know the new length you need and we will send it to you within 24 hours (if not sooner!).

Do you offer custom music?

We will open up our song request service in April 2026. Stay tuned!

Licensing & Legal

Is the music legal to download?

Yes! We acquire all of the licenses necessary to distribute the music to you. This may include:

1. Master Use. We either own our recordings or have a license to the master recording.

2. Compulsory Mechanical License. The license we need to recreate a song (for example, "Confident" by Demi Lovato).

3. Direct Permission. Mashups, medleys, and changes to a song require direct permission from the song's artist/writers/publisher.

Do I own the music?

No, you are purchasing a license to use the music as gymnastics floor music.

This is how music sales work. Even on iTunes and CDs, you never own the music - you only buy a license to use the music for private listening.

When I buy the music, I can do whatever I want with it.

No. Sharing, editing, or performing to the music improperly could break copyright laws. Please see our music license certificate for a quick rundown.

Do you provide Proof of Purchase or a License Certificate?

Yes! A License Certificate (which also services as a proof of purchase) is instantly available for download with your music purchase.

Why don't you provide the performance or sync license?

If we could, we would!

Public performance licenses must be obtained by the individual performing to the music OR (most commonly in the US) the event venue hosting the competition. You should already be covered to perform to your musci at meets.

Sync licneses must be obtained by the individual syncing the music to their audio-visual works (videos, livestreams) and must contact the publisher directly.
